My Inspirations

When I first started my photography journey I used Pinterest and instagram a lot as my inspiration. I remember finding images and thinking "I wish I could take photographs like that" and then realized that I absolutely can - it just takes practice!

Now, I tend to sway towards landscape, waterscape, and sunset photography and enjoy the work of Kane Engelbert and Philip Slotte - I keep up with their photography websites and check the galleries they post often.

The image above was taken by Engelbert in the Colorado mountains. I really enjoy the colors in this image and how they are reflected in the water. I also like that the greenery creates some added patterns in such a simple photograph.

The next image is by Philip Slotte. I like the simplicity of this image but still how powerful it is. When I first looked at the image I saw the splash of blue of the waves hitting the rocks and then the the lighthouse in the background ever so slightly. I like that its a moment that anyone can capture but how much there is to see in just one image.
