Edward Honaker

I chose to write about Edward Honaker because I found his images really interesting. I also read a little about him and how he used his struggle with depression as inspiration for many of his photographs. I really like the images below. The first one I enjoy because it brings a lot of confusion and curiosity - I want to know more when I'm looking at the image. What was he thinking? how did he take this image and what did he do afterwards to make it look this way? This image makes me understand how he was feeling in a way because it screams anxiety. That is how my brain feels when I am feeling anxious or having a panic attack.

The second image is interesting to me because of the smashed mirror. It makes me wonder if the mirror was already smashed or if he purposely smashed it. I like the patterns and the uneasy feeling the image brings. It almost tells a story but with the hidden emotions - we don't know if it was smashed in anger, frustration, despair, or any other type of emotion. I also enjoy that the person in the image is unclear and that you cannot see their facial expressions.
